Recent Ramblings of Crap

God, why the hell am I back posting shit at 1.30 in the morning?

Anyway- when was the last time I posted something meaningful on here? 2002....okay...when was the last time I posted something on here, period. December 24? Gawd.

Well, here we are 3 and a bit months later, and I hope your 2005 is a good one so far. Mine has started out rather well in the first quarter.

Let's see- a recap. Went to Sydney for 2 weeks odf r&r only to find that I was only up there for one of those weeks, courtesy of work. Got drunk in that one week, though.

Still working for iiNet. Still treating me well, too

I am 98% of the way through a house at the moment as well. Yes- I have *finally*, after how many bloody years of trying, got myself a place and the money to back it. Just awaiting the final touches from the bank. More details to come, however, I will give out the URL of the place to people who ask (note to self- That will be a total of 0 people).

Also had a quite nice time as far as relationships go. Not saying too much now (dont want to spoil it now do I), but the next year will be very interesting. Stay tuned on that one.

Umm....well....that's basically my first quarter of 2005 in a nutshell..

Stay tuned for the second quarter, as that is probably the next time I will be in front of this panel again!

As I look at my watch in the near darkness, I realise it it Christmas. As an Athiest, I shouldn't really care. I mean- I'm all for getting the next 4 days off because of said break, but I guess I should say it on behalf of everyone 'else' out there.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all....well....at almost 1 in the morning, ...well....to all a good night.

*Yawn* Morning...

I have no idea why I haven't been back here too often- maybe because noone reads it anymore ;-) Not too bad a weekend at all. Went out with mates on Friday night after work, and did well...good time had by all....wtf am I writing? *half asleep* I got up too early...

Anyway- yes...weekend...Got home as the birds were chirping *memo to self- earplugs are now needed* and got 4 hours sleep. Stuffed around and did normal house crap, then went out on Saturday night with friends- Good time had by all again..except when we weren't all let in to a club...that was being BOUNCED BY SOMEONE I KNEW! *memo to self- I need to grill him this afternoon when I get to work* Got home at 4am then found that the sisters had had a party- so was up til 6.30 finishing off beer etc.

Slept this time- 1pm got up. Went out in the afternoon for a quiet beer again with the same friends that I went out with on Friday- quiet- too tired...

Then here I am.....Having to work on Cup Day for bloody Allah's sake! Anyway- I'm off....caffeine needed- if I try to sleep now, I'll end up light headed and probably end up nose first into my steering wheel on the Eastern.

Ciao for now...Good luck to any horse you may have chosen....as I have chosen sweet jack all..

Meh- well done to Port....

*that is all*

Shit- I haven't been in here for 3 months! *clears away cobwebs and other assorted matter* I'll need to vacuum.

OK- what has happened to me since the last post? Well- I cant remember much from June through to August, but can tell you a little since then.

- Bigblue has been successfully bought out by the all conquering iinet- WA's largest ISP. So I have come full circle- Flow was bought out by them shortly after I was given the arse. They seem nice enough- and have been nice enough to give us a payrise and a nice little showbag of goodies *yay!* Anyway- that finalises on October 2nd.

But the one thing I *did* really like about this was that they offer the opportunity to travel. Since they have offices in now 4 states plus New Zealand, they say that one incentive is that we can swap with others in other states should they want to come over here for a while and work. Flights and accom are included. Ooo....and it's been 15 years since I was in Perth ;-) But New Zealand also looks interesting.

- THE LIONS ARE IN THE GF AGAIN- GOING FOR 4 IN A ROW!!!! Yes- even i did not think it would happen, but it has. Let's hope we can make it 4 in a row and shut old Collingwood diehards up. Although, looking in the paper this morning, all it seems to have done is ignite Mr Eddie McEverywhere's passion for our salary cap to be pushed down "....The Lions have a larger salary cap and have 12 home games compared to us in the 20's".

NO SHIT SHERLOCK!! The sooner someone stuffs a sock in his mouth, the better. Sure- he is wonderful for Victorian football, but he can *really* be a pain sometimes! I felt like telling the picture of him on the front of the Herald Sun to pleeease give us some recognition. I don't slag off the Collingwood football club.......

But anyway- yes. Umm- what else...General socialising....but not much else apart from work and football. (Gawd this blogger interface is weird now).

Now I am fulltime, I am looking at (after a quick trip to Sydney again in February), investing in either a house or units. Let's see which one comes first, eh? I'd really like the house, because I'm not sure how much longer Mum and Dad wasnt to stay down here for. But I'll let everything take its course.

Anyway- I'm off for the moment (excuse the shortness of this blog, but it's better than nothing because some people only keep in touch with me via the web).

Catch you later.....probably ion a drunken state should we win....If we lose.....I'd still be drunk, but possibly more coherant, because we have to put up with South Australia's bragging for a year....

*Yawn* Hello all,

A look at my site last night threw my brain into thinking I needed to update my blogs. The cold hard light of day that it surely missed was that I not ony have to update my blogs but my whole bloody site. But since I am lazy- I choose only do update the blogs...

Okay- a month from the last post...what has happened? Well, not much out of the ordinary. Work....um...I got the site hosted elsewhere now that Flow is officially iinet- therefore my dialup/mail/web and domain hosting are out the window. Took all of 5 seconds to find another host, so that's okay. Problem is- for the first time in my life, I'm actually paying for the web/mail hosting. Oh well- 3.50 a month never hurt anyone.

Interesting month as far as social life goes. Friends have found themselves company of the opposite sex, then lost it. Me- well...I always assume to have friends of the opposite sex...just not friends who will initially look at you in different eyes. Oh well- makes me no nevermind. I'm still young.

The second of three sisters has decided to move back in from her housewarming of 3 months. Her reason (I laugh at this)- no money!! WHY THE HELL DO YOU THINK I MOVED BACK??! ;-) Oh well- a welcome addition again (Call me a protective brother).

Got back on Saturday night with a mate from watching the mighty Lions demolish the Bombers at the Dome. Great game- many a beer was drunk. My mate (a Carlton supporter) overconfidently SMS'ed after the game 'I have just seen the 2004 premiers' to a friend. Me being the pesimist that I am dismissed this. We're only halfway through the season...

Well- if things decide to click into place, I'm off to Geelong this Saturday to hopefully see the team in action against...well....Geelong. I think I may not drink too much this game. last time I went down to Geelong and did this I ended up with a verryyy bad hangover.

Anyway- I can't think of whatever it was that was on my mind 2 minutes ago to post here (I tell you- some epileptics..we're great at doing that).

Catch you all later

Hello loyal subject(s),

Oooo...a new look blogger again...i really must stop doing that, as many of you who read this drivel don't know what the interface looked like earlier.

Anyway *puts on Hendrix's Are You Experienced?* Ahh..yes, anyway..now what has happened since I last wrote? Work is work, play is play.

Ah yes. I seem to have been noticed at work, for they have asked me to step up into a level 2 support role. While that is all well and good, I have not seen or heard one thing about a pay increase. Oh well- I will do what I always do and impatiently demand and scream until I get what I want.

Apart from that, continuing to study, but not too hard, since I found out there was not really a time limit for the modules I am doing. Well....that's just the best news I have heard since the government gave another 5 grand to the first home owners grant. (Which basically means I may start looking for another house later this year).

Anyway- jack else has happened apart from some socialising with old friends and hearing their troubles over a quiet beer or two. Never good hearing peoples troubles, but when the news shocks you initially, it's an eye opener to where you are in life I guess. (No no-one has died). Philisophically speaking.

I'll leave you for now in this badly written post and catch you all at some other time.

Well after hounding to update the bloody blogs AGAIN, I've decided to get on and at least do something. Well..something in the form of writing down jumbled words to form an incoherant sentence. (The fact that I've spelt incoherant incorrectly proves how incorehent it really is).

Anyway, apart from work, not much has been up for this little black duck. I've decided to update my chances of actually getting some proper work in my chosen field (and no it's not a bloody helpdesk job), by enrolling in 2 certifications (MCSE/MCDBA and CCNA for you people who actually want to know). Basically it will (as said earlier) get me into a network ops and or a sys admin job, which is where I want to go..having resigned to the fact that I do NOT want to do a helpdesk role anymore. A combination of 6 years on and off is bad enough. I like the other things that I sunk my teeth into during those 6 years besides helpdesk. Hence the change. Plus the pay increases (well I'd better bloody hope so) dramatically should I get one of these positions. So yes- started on the MCSE side of things (even though I *still* think this cert can be obtained off the side of a cornflake packet if you have 250 dollars to sit the exam and fluke it). And no- I'm not just sitting the exam- have started studying from the start, and finding out there are a lot of things I do not know as yet about the Microsoft operaring systems in detail. Damn.

Anyway- studying and work doesn't really give me much of a chance to go out and socialise too much at the moment- what with my buggered up rosters that see me working every day under the sun so I cant get a weekend day off. Although I do have Anzac Day off this Sunday- so hopefully will be able to go out then and the night before as well.

Will try to keep updateing the site to keep people happy....i have a good mind to pull the entire site down and start from scratch (a' la a few other people I know), but I don't have the time to do that either...Suggestions are most welcome.

Ciao for now....I have a story I want to tell to ACA about how my mothers sisters cousin's former college roomate has slept with David Beckham...and I have all the goss...

Hello everyone, and happy St. Pat's day for yesterday,

No more 'update your damn site' emails. Good. Either no-one cares or it's not visted much. (probably all of the above). Anyway- just been working the past few weeks- not much happening at all.

Congrats to cricket's Victorian Bushrangers, who claimed the Sheffield Shield/Pura Cup for the first time since '91. I went on Tuesday for the last day of the game. Good to see an outright victory won so quickly. Enjoyed the day immensly, but the sun may have been a bit too warm for me, as I ended up fairly sunburnt. Also good to see them give a good tribute to Hookesy and Johnny Scholes- the latter dying suddenly of a heart attack as coach. Mantle was passed to David Hookes, who was killed in late January. I'm sure they would have been proud.

Also a well done to 2 Shield greats- Darren Berry and Stuart Law- the Vic captain and the QLD and Australian great both announcing their retirements. You've done the state competition proud.

Anyway- I'm off to work, so ciao for now.

I HAVE MY CAR BACK!!
